Looks like im finally getting to relax a little bit (who am i kidding, i bringing a textbook) and spend the next two days in South Bend Indiana! Wish luck for the Aggies!
| Line was here last weekend for the Iowa State game. -_-;...... thats not football. Hung out with friends from L-town. I really should have taken Line to the Dixie Chicken but o well.
I OWNED my German midterm. Yay, that should be an A for that class.
It was so much easier in high school. If you wanted to know your grade, you could ask the teacher. Here, you figure it out on your own and trying to figure out how the teacher will give a curve. I am so close to an A in chem.
So figuring out next semesters schedule: so far I want GERM 321, German Culture and Civilization through 1821, BIO 213 (both teachers are new; Dr. Erickson is supposed to be good, but I have met Dr. Maggert, whos nice, but his class is at 8 AM), CHEM 102H (I really should learn a lesson and take it nonhonors, but if im still in the honors program at semester, that is my ONLY choice for an honors class) and some KINE 198, probably yoga, ballroom dancing, archery or fencing, depending on my schedule, all seem to be directly before or after a class.
I finally saw Oklahome last week. It was really good, but I still prefer my Phantom.
So this weekend is Wurstfest, and I will be drinking beer and partying the night away!! just kidding, I hate beer, there had better be something else there.
| Grades and college are hard to figure out. For instance, my first test in chemistry was not even a B (one point off), yet somehow I am making a good B for my midterm due to my labs, homework and quizes. Even weirder, that B is a 73, and an A is an 80. o_o
First lesson learned: On tests shoot for a 90 unless you need a grade bumper. If a 90 is an A, a 97 wont look any different on a transcript, they get the same 4.0 on paper.
Second lesson: Bs are OK. Achieving a 4.0 in college are those who take only easy courses or those who never leave their rooms (eek! daylight!)
I also had my second biology exam this morning. I feel all right about it ( I KNOW I nailed one of the essay questions :) ), but if I did bad, I can do better on our last exam, rereview for the final, possibly have a bonus project, and the worse of our exam grades is dropped.
Tomorrow I have my German midterm, and once again have to start studying for next week's math and chem monthly exams.
I spent the weekend in New Braunfels with my aunt and uncle, and surprised my first host parents, who are in the country to visit their daughter in Texas. Lots of fun shopping in Austin! Somehow my mom acquired tickets for the tu game (inside seats o_o) so i got to see David, Bryan and another exchange student from Peru on Saturday. Dagmar was a little sad to leave Line, but she did very well.
Heading home this weekend! What's going on in L-town? >silence.....< Hmmm. may as well study
| So instead of fighting floods, I spent Friday and Saturday fighting boredom. At least the arks can now be used for bonfires.
I loved that 2nd field goal fake-out. My dorm was sitting there thinking out loud, "great Another field goal" which turned into a touchdown. I want to see that again. :)
I just took my first Chemistry 101 exam. ...I think I did fine, but I know I made mistakes. Either way, I want a curve, just like everybody else.
Tonight is my first night as an OPAS member! Bringing Calculus material with though somehow, I have yet another exam tomorrow. -_-
| The SMU game was a beautiful game. 66-8 and I got ZPs! Went ou to Longhorn Tavern, saw Reggie McNeal with his family, then studied, something I have been doing a lot lately. Hmm..guess I'm in college.
Had my first exam today. I think I did rather good actually, but curves are always nice. If worse comes to worse, we drop our lowest test grade; mind you, our grades are three exams and our final.
I made OPAS! First meeting was today and things are getting even more busy. I have to speak with them already about missing a performance; I have to rearrange my Calculus exam time or miss the Thursday performance.
So College Station is batting down the hatches for Hurricane Rita. Never thought I would ever experience such a thing. But I went out a bought some extra food and water (by the way, there is water at the c-store and it aint too expensive) so I am prepared for the weekend. I have got by books to study (Chem and Calc exams next week grr) and DVDs and what not to keep me occupied for what not. My roomie is taking precautions and taking her horse home for the weekend. If worse comes to worse, her mattress goes in front of the window, I have her ok for this. This may just be the prefect weekend for a LOTR marathon. I have not seen those in their entirety for a year!
